A recent Flibanserin study shows that four women in ten suffer from some type of female sexual dysfunction (FSD). Most of these women either ignore the symptoms or they curtail their sexual activity, because there are no effective prescription drugs available to relieve their sexual issues.
Another Flibanserin study shows that could change in the near future when the FDA approves Flibanserin for medical use.
Boehringer Ingelheim, the German pharmaceutical company, developed the drug Flibanserin to treat depression, but the first Flibanserin study revealed that the drug had a positive impact on sexual desires and fantasies.
Flibanserin contains dopamine D4 receptors and serotonin 5-HT receptors so it’s non-hormonal, but it still has the ability to stimulate the brain so natural sexual hormones are activated.
The data accumulated from the Phase III Flibanserin study on women with hypoactive sexual desire disorder were presented at the 58th Annual Clinical Meeting of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologist in San Francisco.
That data showed that women suffering from hypoactive sexual desire disorder increase their sexually satisfying encounters from three a month to five a month when 100mg of Flibanserin is used daily for forty eight weeks.
Other clinical trials completed before the Phase III Flibanserin study produced similar results on over five thousand women around the world, so Boehringer believes that FDA approval should be forthcoming based on each Flibanserin study conducted in over three and fifty locations around the world.
Flibanserin will be marketed under the Girosa brand when it is approved by the FDA. Boehringer feels that Flibanserin study after Flibanserin study confirms the fact the drug is a female Viagra although it does not increase blood flow like Sildenafil does when it enters the body.
Sildenafil, better known as Viagra, is the most popular prescription drug in the world. Flibanserin has the potential to exceed Viagra’s sales since millions of women around the world experience some type of FSD before their sixtieth birthday.
One Flibanserin Study Indicates Annoying But Minor Side Effects
Most prescription female enhancement medications have annoying side effects due to the chemical reactions that occur within each individual. Some side effects are easy to live with while others can be just as debilitating as FSD symptoms.
One Flibanserin study indicates that the Flibanserin can cause headaches, nausea, insomnia, anxiety, dizziness, and fatigue, but some women with FSD symptoms believe that the results are worth the aggravation.
