When the German pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim developed the anti-depressant drug Flibanserin, the company had no idea that after a few Flibanserin clinical trials they would be seeking FDA approval to relieve the symptoms of female sexual dysfunction in pre-menopausal women of all ages.
